The "P" Spread

Me  and my siblings loves peanut spread ever since when we were kids, my father used to make a home made peanut spread and even now that were grown ups we still love it. One time i told my brother i miss the P spread that my father used to make, he said why  not try to remake it? I agreed so the next day i tried making the spread and hoped that it was close enough to the taste that my dad used to make and luckily it was or my brother said so..haha..One day as i go off to work he told me he made a peanut sandwich for my baon because i was in a hurry that time, i wasn't able to eat dinner. During my break at the office my co-agents asked me where to eat i just told them i wont go out because i have sandwich, they got curious so i shared. They said it tasted good, i thanked them and told them i made the spread, they were surprise to know that it was home made and they started to request for more as it was their kids favorite too.

So come weekend i bought all the ingredients.I thought of doing something unusual for my spread to be different just in case someone would compare. My brother told me dahil uso naman ang crunchy we can add peanut bits & to add a variety i added Hershey's kisses (for kids & kids at heart).  The next day after delivering the goods, i was so happy with the comments i got from them. They said they all enjoyed it and their kids loved it. I was so overwhelmed.. After a week i made another batch..and up until now they are constant buyers.

The Rolls...

Majority of my office mates are health conscious and so they always request for something healthy to eat aside from salad so i thought of another "papak mode" food for them. What i did is I cooked one of my personal favorite, Vegetable Rolls (lumpiang gulay) but not the fresh one (ayaw nila ng sweet sauce) and because healthy nga ang peg there should be no pork so i replaced it with Tofu and the usual ingredients like cabbage, carrots, baguio beans, sprouts & bell peppers. I also made my own vinegar mix sweet & sour ( a bit spicy). Still some preferred to eat it with rice (told yah!) and they say they all liked it and requested for more.

Chicken Spring Rolls
Thought about having a variety, I decided to make Chicken Rolls for a change. For this dish I prepared ground chicken, button mushrooms, cabbage & bell peppers. Same procedures with the wraps & same vinegar mix.. This time around most of them preferred to eat it with rice..(time out muna daw sa papak mode) basing from their reactions...It was superb & they all loved it.

More to come...!!!

#By Request...

Fresh Garden Salad with Tofu bits

It was only mid this year when i decided to sell packed lunch at my work place. The idea came in when my former boss was craving for something light & green and when she saw me online she sent me a message right away and requested a garden salad that i used to make for her before, i didn't know that she will post it in her Instagram account (really touching) and that started it. One of my co-agents saw it and asked me to  make some for her because she's on diet (daw...) and when the other agents heard about it they also requested one for them (feeling healthy pala ang peg nila..hehe)  I had a total of 12 orders and it really made  happy not just because they all liked it but also they requested another menu the next day...and so this is how "#ByRequest & #teamYP " started..

Here are some of those #ByRequest orders from my #teamYP...

Foodie At Heart

Passion for cooking runs in the blood of our family, from my grandparents whose specialty is seafood dishes that every time we had a gathering stands out. I believe that its where my dad (blessed his soul) inherited his talent because even though he didn't have a formal schooling at culinary he was then a Head Cook at a restaurant in Subic during his younger years. When he met my mom there was an instant connection because of.....(guess what???) a BBQ Sauce...yes u read it right...a BBQ sauce...My mom who was then a tailor/buss woman together with her close friend put up a small "ihaw-ihaw" buss as their sideline, eversince my dad tasted it he got so curious and asked who made it and the
rest is history.

Growing up in a household where both of my parents loves cooking its no wonder that i grow up with the same passion like them. I remember when i was still in grade school I'm always at the kitchen asking whats this & that...I learned the basics from my dad because he was always the one in charge in the kitchen. My parents love catering parties at home especially during our birthdays or whatever occasion there is, my parents really enjoyed hosting events and it was really overwhelming every time i hear the guests would say how much they love the food that was served and how much they enjoyed their stay. So until now even if dad is not with us anymore he's legacy continues and all the things  he thought me would forever be remembered in my heart.
